La generosa y receptiva provincia de Casma , se ubica en la zona costa de la Región Ancash, siguiendo la Panamericana Norte desde Lima, capital del Perú.
En la provincia de Casma encontraras un clima cálido todo el año. Su ubicación geográfica es en la costa central del departamento de Ancash, a una distancia de 373 Km. Al norte de Lima. El clima de Casma es seco, sin lluvias, con sol todo el año refrescado por brisas del mar. La temperatura media anual es de 22 grados centígrados.
Los distritos de la provincia de Casma ofrece al visitante: riqueza marina, paisajes naturales, campiñas y pintorescos poblados, ubicados entre el nivel del mar y los 4000 m.s.n.m.
Estos distritos son: Casma, que es su capital, rodeado de pequeños cerros y campiñas de intenso verdor bañadas por los ríos Casma y Sechin; a 10Km.Más al norte esta Comandante Noel, con su capital Puerto de Casma, de cautivante mar , donde destaca la pesca y el turismo en el balneario de Tortugas a 10Km. Al suroeste se halla Buenavista, zona de producción agrícola de exportación y con vestigios arqueológicos; y a 40Km, al este esta Yaután , valle ideal para camping y famosos por sus frutales, con carreteras de acceso a Huaraz, capital de la región Chavin.

Realmente la laguna de San Diego es mas extensa y hermosa de lo que se aprecia en estas imágenes pues queda situada justo al lado izquierdo de la hacienda San Diego y si..tiene una flora y fauna muy variada propia del lugar..no critiquen faltas ortográficas aquí... lo que se aprecia y valora es la intención de difundir nuestro patrimonio cultural
